Sunday January 03, 2010, 23:32Our company faced recently interesting dilemma. We decided to update our voicemail greeting. In order to create a professional greeting we did a detailed research. Based on our expertise we have created few examples of greetings and a list of the elements needed to create a perfect voicemail greeting.

According to our expertise good greeting should:
- let the caller know who they have reached
- what your status is: if you are out of the office, in meetings, on vacations etc.
- when you will contact the caller back, and an instruction on what to do if the call is urgent.

Now, let put all those advices together and see few examples of professional voicemail greetings:

This is name of company. I?m sorry I cannot take your call right now. Please leave your name, phone number, and a detailed message, and I will contact you as soon as possible. Thank you.

Thanks for calling, you have reached the office of name . I am out of the office or away from my desk. Should you need to reach me immediately, please call (111) 111-1111. Otherwise, please leave me your name and telephone number and I will return your call as soon as possible. Thank you.

Hi this is your name, I'm either away from my desk or on the phone. Please leave your name and number along with a short message and I will be happy to return your call.

There is also a funny one, which I don't really recommend for a business purpose: Hello. Our sixth sense allows us to know what you want , who you are and how to reach you. So at the tone, just hang up. Thank you.
