Sunday May 02, 2010, 8:28Global sales of smartphones surged by 50% from 35.9 million units in 2009 to 54 million units in the first quarter of 2010. Smartphones now make up 18% of all mobile phone sales globally.Nokia has 40% global market share among all mobile phone makers, RIM has 20%, Apple with its iPhone 16% and Motorola has 4%.
