Websites can be static or can be programmed to be dynamic. Dynamic web pages automatically adjust content depending on factors such as input from the user, webmaster or change in database. Static web pages don?t change their content unless a website programmer manually updates the web page. An example of static content is a simple HTML web page. Content on dynamic page can be changed on the client side (visitor) by using client-side scripting languages such as JavaScript, JScript, Actionscript and DOM elements (DHTML). Dynamic content on websites is often processed by server-side scripting languages such as Perl, PHP, ASP, JSP, ColdFusion. Complex websites generally use both dynamic and static web pages.
