Registry operator of dotcom (.co) domains, .CO Internet S.A.S. announced that its domain names are available now through registers such as GoDaddy.com, Register.com, Network Solutions, and others. Similar to dotcom (.com) domains, .co are available to everyone. Dotco domains are already widely recognized, more than 20 countries already use them for their country-specific domains (for example .co.uk and .co.jp).

The cost of .co domain depends on register and it is: $29.90 at godaddy, $39.90 at Network Solutions and $40.00 at Register.com.

ICANN Approves Dot-XXX Domain for Porn

It is official, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers decided Friday that pornography industry will have its own top-level domain, dot-XXX. ICM Registry said that .xxx makes it easier to filter out inappropriate content. Great news for those that wish to consume, or avoid, adult content, said Chairman Stuart Lawley.

GoDaddy will stop registering .cn (China) domains

The reason of this decision is that the Chinese government wants all registrars provide photo identification, business identification and physically signed registration for all .cn (China) domains registered through GoDaddy.com.

Christine Jones, executive vice president from GoDaddy Groups said – “We have 40 million domain names under management. We’ve done this a lot. This is the first time any registry has ever asked use to retroactively obtain information on individuals who have registered domain names through our company.”
