On February 11, 2012, The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences will honor Steve Jobs for his ingenuity. The Grammy Award posthumously honors Jobs for helping to “create products and technology to transform the way we consume music, TV, movies, and books.”

Intel announced that the company had agreed to buy McAfee, it is the computer antivirus software maker. Intel seeks to expand its presence in security services and the company will spend $7.7 billion in cash buying McAfee.

McAfee, Inc. is an antivirus software and computer security company headquartered in Santa Clara, California. McAfee markets McAfee VirusScan and related security products and services, including the IntruShield, Entercept, and Foundstone brands. It looks like the technology industry have had their recovery. Intel, Apple, EMC and now Microsoft are announcing an income rises. Microsoft, the world?s largest software producer reported results for its third quarter which shows sales rising 6 percent.

Intel recorded net income of US$2.4 billion for the quarter of fiscal 2010, it is an increase of 288 percent compared to the first quarter a year ago. The company confirmed revenue of $10.3 billion for the first quarter of 2010, it is an increase of 44 percent compared to last year’s first quarter.

Intel is going to officially release on Monday the latest Atom N470 processor. A new processor from Intel will bring faster performance and longer battery life to netbooks. The N470 chip processor will run at a speed of 1.83GHz. All Atom chips from Intel go into small, low-cost laptops called netbooks. Netbooks are designed to surf the Web and run productivity applications.

The first chip from Atom family – the Atom N450, which runs at a speed of 1.66GHz can be found in netbooks priced between US$299 and $499.
